tartUp Jerusalem (SUJ) is a non-profit organization aimed at stimulating economic development and job creation in Jerusalem. Our mission is to achieve the revitalization of Jerusalem and its national and international appeal through the development of the city's unique competitive advantages. We believe that aside from improving the capital's economic profile and creating new and high-value job opportunities, the achievement of this goal will also assist in creating harmony between the city's diverse demographic sectors.

The organization, chaired by serial entrepreneur Gideon Ben-Zvi, was founded at the initiative of Nir Barkat, former chairman of Checkpoint, philanthropist and municipal councilmember.

The Board of StartUp Jerusalem is comprised of a wide spectrum of Jerusalemites - Jews and Arabs, religious and secular, new immigrants and veteran Israelis.

Harvard Business School Professor Michael E. Porter is the Honorary Chair of StartUp Jerusalem. Dr. Yagil Weinberg, the President of the Center for Middle East Competitive Strategy (CMECS), chaired by Prof. Porter, is Strategic Advisor to SUJ's Board of Directors. The proven methodology of Professor Porter and the guidance of CMECS are an important aspect of SUJ's success.

StartUp Jerusalem is funded by public and private sources - Israeli and non-Israeli alike.

We are especially grateful to Bank Leumi and Brightman-Almagor for their support in the development of the website.
